13:00 Concert at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Castelló

M5 Mexican Brass

Since its founding in 2005, M5 Mexican Brass’ extensive international history has made it one of the most successful assemblies in Latin America.
Virtuoso chamber music of all genres and periods, its stage show, charismatic interaction with the public and its warm sound make the concert a unique music-theatrical event.

With more than 1,500 concerts on five continents, M5 is one of Mexico’s most active cultural ambassadors abroad. The group undertook extensive tours of the US and Canada since 2008. In 2012, M5 made their Latin American debut in Colombia, in 2013 they performed for the first time in Algeria, Africa, in 2014 in China, in 2015 in Chile, Bahamas in 2016 and Germany in 2017, 2022 in Poland and Austria and 2023 in Spain.

In 2015, the year of its 10th anniversary, M5 had its debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. The release of the CD “M5 on Tour” (recorded in Montreal), as well as a Gala concert at the Sala Nezahualcóyotl in Mexico City were several of the special events that year.

M5 MEXICAN BRASS has performed alongside world-class musicians like Fred Mills and Jens Lindemann.
Creating new audiences is one of the focuses of M5. The quintet presented more than 500 didactic concerts for approximately 200,000 children in Mexico, the US, Canada and Germany.

A growing number of contemporary composers write works for the M5. For example, M5 premieres the work La Topa by the Mexican composer Juan Vazquez with the Municipal Band of Castellón within the FESTMUS 2023 festival.
This tour is the first time that M5 has performed in Spain.
